Message from the Principal

Dear Visitor,

May I, on behalf of all our staff in the school, take this opportunity to welcome you to Moyvore Primary School’s website. We are very conscious of the fact that school must be a happy place for our students. We as a staff will create opportunities for learning which are appropriate to each individual child. We endeavour to build up self confidence and self esteem in each individual child. We are confident that the time spent by students here in Moyvore Primary School will be happy, fulfilling and productive.

The first educational experience which the child has is in the home. Parents, are the primary educators. When a child enters school, the home has already contributed to the development of capacities and skills which will affect significantly the child's subsequent performance in school. The role of the home in the education of the child may diminish to some extent when a child enters school but it will not disappear. Children are motivated more highly to learn in school if they are encouraged at home. Therefore we are conscious of the importance of fostering parental interest and support. We realise that communication between home and school should be frequent, open and positive if our students are to benefit from the effects of co-operation between home and school. We have yearly parent-teacher meetings.
